Bright Eyes: An AA Skincare Review

When I had the opportunity to review the Seaweed & Aloe Refreshing Eye Gel from the Amphora Aromatics, Essentials Skincare Collection I’ll admit I jumped at it.

‘A beauty essential to remove make up and revitalise tired eyes

AA Skincare Essential’s multi-purpose Seaweed & Aloe Refreshing Eye Gel helps rehydrate and restore delicate skin around the eyes, gently and effectively removes make up and can help cool skin after a spell in the sun.

Perfect for summer travel, a festival or office pick-me-up for tired eyes or as an everyday beauty essential, this refreshing gel combines Aloe Vera, known for its anti-inflammatory and anti-microbial properties, with mineral-rich seaweed.  Natural extracts of Eyebright and Cornflower help soothe, while Cucumber adds to the hydrating and calming effect of this super absorbent gel.’

What with working in an office for my proper job; spending hours at a screen at home too, writing for this blog or editing photos for sale; suffering with migraine photosensitivity; suffering from non-restorative sleep; etc etc etc, I felt my dry tired eyes were an ideal candidate for the job!

The sound of the eye gel is very appealing and so is the packaging. I’m not one for glitzy wrapping in that you feel you’re paying for that almost more than the product! The Essentials Collection is stylish without the designer label price tag. For instance the refreshing eye gel currently retails at £6.96 – good value don’t you think?

‘Part of the new AA Skincare Essential’s range of aromatherapy creams, gels, cleansers, moisturising lotions and skincare products, the new Seaweed & Aloe Refreshing Eye Gel is formulated using pure essential oils and natural ingredients.

Says Woody Evans, director of AA Skincare, “We’ve created a 3 in 1 product, ideal for the multi-tasking consumer this summer.  With the festival season upon us, our new eye gel is the perfect antidote to late night partying or anyone suffering from disturbed sleep – helping refresh and revitalise tired eyes.  It’s affordable and effective too.”’

I was told it was easy to use and it really is. First job was as eye make-up remover as I’ve recently rediscovered mascara. I haven’t bothered in ages but as my illness drags on I find myself looking for simple ways to look less knackered! I put a little on a cotton wool pad and the gel made light work of helping me avoid panda eyes. Brilliant start 🙂

Being additionally soothing, the gel not only works well but doesn’t irritate my sensitive skin. I’m really appreciating this as a regular eye gel too – factor in hot & itchy hayfever eyes when they’re already tired and dry and you’ll get a sense of just how soothing this cooling loveliness is each morning! 🙂

If you’d like to give the seaweed & aloe refreshing eye gel a try it’s available direct from AA Skincare at their online shop.

*I was sent a 50ml pot of eye gel for the purpose of this review; all opinions are my own.
