Raptor Foundation Good Friday 2016 kestrel LL feature

Enraptured with The Raptor Foundation

I’m fairly unsociable by nature, partly due to my shyness and introversion, partly due to being my father’s daughter, and, over the last several years, being or feeling too poorly to make plans.

Now I’m feeling much better I’m wanting to go out and about more but, as I’ve always been rubbish at making friends, I’m often left doing things on my own.

So, recently I joined a few local groups on the Meetup site and have been to an author evening (Susie Steiner, excellent) and to the cinema ( Room. So pleased the film didn’t ruin the book) with them.

On Good Friday there was a trip to The Raptor FoundationΒ and I had a brilliant time meeting new people and falling in love with most of the exhibits!

Here’s just a few of the (too) many photos I took!

There were meerkats too!! A great way to start the morning :)

The flying display was really great too and I loved seeing these amazing birds doing what comes naturally up close. Some of them were fonder of their handlers than others, I featured one great pairing for my Sunday photo this week, but all were a pleasure to see.

This girl had only been training at the centre for a few days…I think she’s a natural!

In the next couple of weeks I have another cinema trip (Spotlight. The trailer looked awesome, I’m not surprised it was an Oscar winner), plus a group walk and a trip to the seaside. I’m looking forward to all of them! πŸ™‚

  1. Absolutely amazing pictures and that just sounds extraordinary! All the birds are stunning, I love seeing the bald eagle up close. The meerkat is rather adorable as well. Have a great week πŸ™‚
