I’ve reviewed AA Skincare’s, erm, skin care, range before, but, new to the product range are natural goodies for your barnet.
I was sent the Ylang Ylang, Argan & Rosemary version and have been using it for a couple of weeks now.
It has a lovely natural scent and lathers well, not too much that it feels fake if you know what I mean. It just leaves your hair feeling lovely and clean.
Sadly I didn’t feel much benefit from the conditioning properties of this and have been using a separate one but I don’t think my hair is dry which is the type that I believe the Ylang Ylang is aimed at:
A naturally effective, nutrient-rich conditioning shampoo which can help repair split ends and encourage softness, shine and volume as well as repair split ends. Adds nutrients to the scalp for healthy hair and can help treat dandruff. Suitable for sensitive skins.
The (natural) science bit:
Ylang Ylang Essential Oil – delicate fragrance. Helps nourish and repair brittle hair and promote a healthy scalp. Balancing and keeps skin hydrated.
Argan Essential Oil – rich in vitamins A and E and antioxidants. Moisturising and conditioning properties promote softness and shine, whilst helping to repair split ends and prevent dry hair.
Cucumber Extract – softens and nourishes hair by adding nutrients to the scalp. Non-irritating and anti-inflammatory.
Rosemary Extract – encourages hair growth and helps add volume. Anti-oxidant.
Moroccan Lava Clay (Rhassoul Clay) – mined from the Atlas mountains in North West Africa. Used as a natural cleanser for centuries and will not alter the structure of the hair. Suitable for sensitive skins. Can help prevent split ends and adds volume and gloss to help promote fuller, thicker hair.
Tulsi Powder (Basil Leaves) –has purifying properties. Anti-fungal and anti-bacterial. Helps treat dandruff and promote hair growth. Reduces itchiness and hair loss.
I would go for the rejuvenating or nourishing versions in the future as they’re likely to be more suited to my aging, coloured locks I’d have thought.
If you want a totally separate shampoo and conditioner, then you need the Pomegranate & Rose (doesn’t that sound divine?) as, at the time of writing, that’s the sole variation that has both in the range.
The lovely shampoos from the new AA Natural Haircare range retail at £5.94
Also at the moment I’m using the new Classic Shower Oil from Fenjal.
I was keen to try this after hearing about the 8 hour hydro effect:
With the smart ability to lock in moisture, New Ffenjal Classic Shower Oil provides eight hours of proven skin hydration after each use. This silky shower oil ensures a deeply luxurious Swiss Spa experience, leaving skin soft and smooth thanks to Fenjal’s moisturising beauty oils and natural grapeseed oil.
Sounds good doesn’t it?
It is. The shower oil has a re-assuring clean scent to it and is super soft and smooth when applied to the skin. It doesn’t feel oily at all.
DID YOU KNOW
· Grapes are renowned for their antioxidant effects, but did you know that grapeseed oil has a host of beauty benefits?
o Helps reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles due to its high concentration of essential fatty acids
o Contains beta-carotene and vitamins D, C, E to help fade unsightly scars
o Free radical damage is caused by stress, smoking and environmental aggressors. Grapeseed oil is packed with anti-inflammatory antioxidants called polyphenols which fight free radicals to prevent acne and premature ageing
o Promotes the regeneration of collagen due to its rich abundance of free radical busting flavonoids known as oligomeric proanthocyanidins (OPC)
o Balances out oily and dry patches in combination skin
o Contributes to skin regeneration and helps preserve moisture
I usually shower in the evening and I was surprised but slightly impressed that my skin did still feel nice the next morning without using my moisturiser.
This Summer, now that I’ve lost weight and got fitter after my long-term illness, I’ll be outdoors more with a little more skin on show…good to know it will be easy to keep it smooth and hydrated for the season.
Fenjal Classic Shower Oil retails at £5.49 and is available from Boots as well other independent pharmacies.
