Summer is in, now school is out.
“Ice cream please!” The kids all shout.
Lazy days; less work, more play.
Outdoors beckons; less home, more away.
Families spend more time together,
There’s a lot to be said for better weather.
Lush green grass and big blue skies,
Sunglasses on to protect our eyes.
Picnics under the shady trees;
Gardens welcome butterflies and bees.
Barefoot walks on a sandy beach,
Happiness seems within our reach.
Sunshine keeps us warm in shorts and skirts,
Wardrobe requirements: vests and t-shirts.
Short sharp showers help the air stay clear;
I think we all love this time of year.
