Real Life Is Calling

My final blog post for a while as my blogging life has to take a backseat I’m afraid.

More and more I’m struggling to keep up with all the necessary writing and photography and promotion and engagement that needs to happen on an almost constant basis for a blog to be successful.

I love my little corner of the internet but keeping it going means everything else gets neglected. I just don’t have time to even look at anyone else’s blogs let alone engage properly with those that are kind enough to visit this one.

Therefore, I’ve made the tough decision to take a step back.

I don’t have time to actually do the creative writing and colouring and photography that I love talking about. I can’t remember the last time I had 5 minutes to build something with Lego. I’m still in the middle of a book I started reading last year. Last weekend I did dip my toe back in the geocaching waters which was mightily weird without my faithful geohound Stella but I want to get out again and do more. I need to generally DO more in real life & do less in my online one.

I’ve deleted LinkedIn and will gradually scale down the other networks. When I have time for Twitter I want to have conversations not just RT my own blog links in a mad rush. I ‘met’ so many nice people on Twitter and Facebook and Instagram through blogging, but, I want to have time to chat to those people again.

Right now I especially want to concentrate on being the best partner I can be to the lovely boyfriend who has suffered a setback with his cancer treatment. He’s being very strong and macho about it and telling me not to worry about doing my own thing, but, I want to be with him as much as I can.

So, this isn’t a goodbye as I’ll still be on your social media timelines, but, hopefully, in a more old-fashioned, two-way way 🙂

As Tigger would say: TTFN!

  1. Oh Lisa, sorry to hear about your boyfriend’s cancer setback. Cancer sucks. I’ve enjoyed reading your blog. I hope this is going to be more like a holiday than goodbye forever! Hope you come back!

  2. Best wishes, Lisa. I’ll miss reading your posts and especially your lovely photos but it sounds like a good decision. I hope the lovely boyfriend gets over his setback.
